Folk Legend Patrick Sky Gets a Car!

Patrick Sky & his wife Cathy with Pat’s New Car

Late last year we posted a story about Folk music legend Patrick Sky and his need for being on Music Maker’s Sustenance Program due to his poor health.

When we called to check in on Pat a couple weeks ago he told us that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease and that his car had broken down, preventing him from getting to his doctor’s appointments. Fortuitously, Music Maker had connected with a longtime donors Chris Klug and Lisa Lipinski who happened to have a car to donate. Music Maker sprung into action and flew Berk Ozturk, our Exhibitions Coordinator, up to Washington, D.C. to pick up the car and drive it down to Hillsborough. The next day Berk and I took off for the mountains to deliver the car to Pat and get it set up at the local DMV for him. When we arrived, Pat was incredibly grateful for the car and expressed deep appreciation for our donors who allow Music Maker to help him and the other musicians that we work with.
