Bye Bye Blackbird exemplifies the psychedelic spirit of this album. At 1:33 in length, the tune starts out at break neck speed and quickly dives into a keyboard sound never heard before. This was Sam’s true magic – he would open his keyboards up and modify them to create his own sounds. The song ends with Sam scat singing while playing background melody on his keyboard. I wonder why the song is so short? It’s the last on the record – maybe Sam’s hypnotism was wearing off.
