Boo Hanks had an impact on anyone that ever met him: the staff at MMRF, the audiences that were lucky enough to witness his performances, and especially a young string musician that you may know from the Carolina Chocolate Drops – Dom Flemons. Part of MMRF’s mission through our Next Generation program is to connect our elder partner artists with the younger generations. Over the years Boo and Dom became great friends, so when the opportunity to make an album together came up it was a no brainer. The album, Buffalo Junction, is a testament to the Next Generation program and the importance of torch bearers in American musical traditions.
