I remember my first day at Music Maker and heading down to the basement/warehouse to make CDs and seeing this album on the shelf. At this point, my Southern musical knowledge was minimal but I recognized this track – Blackberry Blossom. Most of the versions I had heard previously were highly polished, performed with pinpoint accuracy, and devastating speed. This version was different. It sounded like the first time I heard this tune live, around a camp fire, in the woods somewhere in rural NC.
