I wish I could have seen Dr. Burt perform live… I’ve heard just his presence alone could silence a crowd, leaving an audience completely mesmerized before even reaching for his guitar. In this recording of a Blues Revue show in Europe, you can feel this stillness take hold of a room as Dr. Burt prepares to let it all out. Once the music starts to flow his voice carries a piercing tremble straight into your soul. It almost sounds like he’s on the verge of tears, completely transparent, down to the lyrics themselves. What can an old man do but sing the blues?
