These past couple of weeks have been a whirlwind. Most of our office has shifted to working remotely and we have been in daily communication with our Partner Artists who are experiencing, like most, a massive shift in their lives. We are incredibly grateful for our supporters who have stepped up and offered to match all donations up to $60,000.

The other day I spoke to Sam Frazier, Jr., who is a legend in his own right. Sam cut his teeth on the blues circuit in Birmingham, AL, was a mainstay on the Country Boy Eddie TV show, and even worked as a Charley Pride impersonator in Las Vegas.

Right now Sam is living day by day. All of his local gigs have been canceled and he is unable to stay completely isolated due to his dialysis treatments, which happen three times a week.

Some incredible news recently came Sam’s way. He has been put on the list for a new kidney. While he was elated to hear the news, he can’t help but wonder how that will all work out during a pandemic. Music Maker is in constant contact with Sam, ensuring that he has enough food and medicine so that he can remain as isolated as possible. Most of all, Sam just likes to hear from the Music Maker staff and is grateful to our supporters.

In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, a generous team of Music Maker supporters pledged to match all gifts, dollar for dollar up to $60,000. That’s $120k for musicians in need.
