inNewson May 19, 2020
Pat “Mother Blues” Cohen takes the spotlight in this feature from PBS NewsHour. A partner artist since 2005, Pat is no stranger to struggle but perseveres through her music. All of her gigs are canceled due to the pandemic but that doesn’t stop her from playing outside of her brother’s nursing home window which is on lock down due to an outbreak in the facility. A Bourbon Street mainstay, Pat was forced out by Hurricane Katrina and moved back to her home in North Carolina. Music Maker has been with her every step of the way providing consistent support through our Sustenance Program. Music Maker founder Tim Duffy speaks to the difficult time all of our partner artists are having through the pandemic.
