Locklear Family recording session

Lakota John Locklear is a great example of how the Blues is alive and well among young artists. A Next Generation Artist, and a Blues prodigy at 15 years old, Lakota John’s appreciation for and amazing ability to play traditional Blues ensures that this music will continue to thrive and remain vital for future generations.
However, what MMRF didn’t know when we first met Lakota John is that the talent doesn’t stop with him. Sister Layla has a powerhouse voice and plays several instruments, “Papa John” plays guitar and harmonica, along with vocals, and mother Tonya picked up the washboard to join in. Now, the entire clan performs together as a group.
