Listen: Chapel Hill Boogie

I’ll always have a special place in my heart for Chapel Hill, NC – ask any UNC graduate and they’ll say the same. For me it’s about more than just school; I grew up in and around Chapel Hill, formed a connection with the town (and its neighbor, Carrboro) that extended farther and deeper than campus, and I’ve seen firsthand what the Chapel Hill Boogie is all about.

I was impressed by John Dee’s command of a guitar when I first started working at Music Maker, when I got the opportunity to see the marriage between blues music and dance. This is deeply personal, incredibly executed dance music that lifts your spirits just listening to it and it just carries me right back home.
