It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of two longtime partner artists. Clyde Langford and Bishop Dready Manning were both unique and loving people that played some of the realest Blues you’d ever hear. The Bishop, as he was affectionately called, was a family man and community leader. Right before the Bishop passed we completed a collaborative project with Private Press to release his album Gospel Train on vinyl, for the first time. Bishop was able to see the album before he passed. When I spoke to his wife, Marie Manning, whom was both a life partner and musical partner, she told me that the family was so thrilled to be able to show this record to the Bishop.

Clyde Langford was a Texas guitar strummer born in 1934 who played in a very primitive style. Clyde was a longtime partner and received sustenance support and a guitar from Music Maker. Music Maker also released the only album Clyde ever recorded, entitled High Steppin’ Momma.
