Biography

Willie James Williams played drums for Willie King for 36 years. When King died, Willie James was put out of work – and has been since. Most of the old musicians Willie James knew in the area either had jobs or had retired from playing, and weren’t able to give him any connections to more work. Willie James’ arthritis has progressed to the point where he couldn’t play a gig even if he had the opportunity.

How We Helped:
In 2014 Music Maker helped Willie James fix the broken water pipes in in his home before the winter set in. Willie James is part of our sustenance program and receives a monthly check. Music Maker has also received several emergency grants to help with his electric bill.
