Rich Henneberry on his connection with Music Maker
inNewson December 30, 2012
I got in involved with the Music Maker Relief Foundation back in 2005 after seeing a show in Washington, DC. I was so intrigued by the artists, their music and their stories that I had to make Music Maker a bigger part of the annual non-profit donations in my family.
I have always loved the blues, but hadn’t embraced the Piedmont style, so the Music Maker artists were all new to me. Once I got involved with Tim and the artists and started helping out, I was blown away by the number of artist partners we had as well as the breadth of musical genres that they encompassed. As a board member, I have gotten to know many of the artists and the Music Maker staff very well and I am honored to work with such a great team. I feel like part of the family. I know I have gotten more out of the organization than I put into it–that keeps me working hard to support the Music Maker mission. The people, music and stories live in me and I can’t imagine not having this great organization around striving to keep this great music alive for generations to come.
